Lawyer to horse lover
Corinthian Racing Club is an exciting new Club set up by Fergus, so that others could enjoy the pleasure he’s had from race horse ownership and the camaraderie of the horse racing world. His interest in horses began in Hong Kong, where, as the senior lawyer for the Bank of East Asia Group, he found Happy Valley racecourse slightly more exciting than corporate governance…
Several years later he established Kathryn Stud, shown here. The small and upcoming private stud has quickly made an impact with the quality of its horses at the sales ring. In its 12-year history, the stud has already bred several Stakes winners, both on the Flat and over jumps.
Fergus looks forward to welcoming you to the Club. Above all, we wants Members to have an enjoyable and social time…
Racehorse owner with a history...
Before Ricky helped set up the Club, he was an owner of a Grand National winner – back in 1998 when the favourite Earth Summit won by 11 lengths.
Ricky’s sporting triumphs don’t end there. Football fans will recall that back in the 1970s Ricky was the winning goalscorer when Hereford United overcame the mighty Newcastle United 2-1 in the third round of the FA Cup. You can read abut these epic events in Ricky’s autobiography One Goal, One Horse
These days you can read Ricky’s commentary on non-league football in his regular Daily Telegraph column. He’s a frequent contributor to radio programmes on football and racing. Catch up with his racing tips, reviews and insights here on his Club website blog.
